Radiohead: Pyramid Song EP [Jul. 15th, 2001|10:07 am]
collating bones
Now that I know the bends and eddies of "Pyramid Song," it's not as mystifying as it used to be, but my affection for it hasn't gone away. The extra tracks are very B-side--textural and formal experiments, rather than songs as such--but at the moment Thom Yorke could sing the phone book and I'd liked it. Actually, maybe that's what he _is_ singing.

?que?

And which alt-culturati would that be? Aside from like Nick Hornby and a few disgruntled ee-I-like-a-good-tune-meself types in the rock-crit community, pretty much all the alt-culturati I know think they're amazing. (And I'm saying that as a late convert myself, which is to say a year and a half after OK Computer came out and I ignored it.)

Re: ?que?

Hmmm, a lot of the overly critical people I know are the ones responsible for the Radiohead backlash. Suddenly it's more cool to bash them now cause they are successful. A lot of my friends are like that. Commercial success is supposedly the kiss of death.
Whatever. I have to ask them what it was that they liked about them to being with. Was it the music, or the fact that they were relatively unknown? Fuckers.
